"The Flowers" - Regina Spektor
Transcribed by Uri Klar ([email protected])
Probably the best songs on the album. Very moving… I transcribed in chord form so for
of you who'd like to play it on the piano it shouldn't be hard to invert it.
A few notes:
Eb7 = Should be played without the 5th note.
instead of a D (very crucial)…

[Verse 1]
The flowers you gave me are rotting and still I refuse to throw them away.
Some of the bulbs never opened quite fully.
They might so I'm waiting and staying awake.
[Chorus]
Things I have loved I'm allowed to keep.
I'll never know if I go to sleep.

The papers around me are piling and twisting
Regina the paper back mummy what then.
I'm taking the knife to the books that I own
and chopping and chopping and boiling soup stone.
[Chorus]
Things I have loved I'm allowed to keep.
I'll never know if I go to sleep.
