David Gray - From Here You Can Almost See The Sea
I decided to put together this tab to give two options for playing this song. The other tab version is
mostly correct and I found helpful for the fills during all the E* chords.
This live version is really useful: https://youtu.be/GFUQq6QyqbE?list=LLOUXs2PBHs0_XGgx1ka3sOQ
The original is in open E tuning (EBEG#BE) with the chords:
E         090090  - see below thanks to jaydog82283's tab
F#m11     220100
Am9       550400
Bmadd11   770600
Aadd9     557555
Below is the pattern played during the E* chords strummed open -- thanks to jaydog82283's tab.
B|-9/10-9--7--5----9/10--9--7--5--2--0--9/10--9--7--9----9/10--9--7--5--2--0--|
#|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-9/10-9--7--5----9/10--9--7--5--2--0--9/10--9--7--9----9/10--9--7--5--2--0--|
|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
If you can't be bothered to change your guitar to open tuning I find these chords a good alternative in
standard tuning:
E         022100 (or 0 14 14 13 0 0)
F#m11     244200
Am        577500
Bmadd11   799700
Aadd9     577600
(Note the pattern played on the B strings above won't work in standard tuning! But as a replacement
you could play some extensions to make it sound more accurate such as Eadd4 022200 and E6 022120.)
[Intro]

[Verse 1]
Come the weekend
And we’ll long gone baby
Just like the old days
Letting the world flow through me
Just a parasite in a line
I'm smoking killing the time
How long’s a piece of twine
What use is sympathy
From here you can almost see the sea
[Verse 2]
If you would hold still
Could make a clean incision
Then we could sit back
And watch the demolition
Little puppy dog in a box
Somebody’s picking the locks
Must want the darn from the socks
Here comes the cavalry
From here you can almost see the sea
[Refrain]
Bmadd11                          Aadd9    E
Just another fool in the line   ahhhhhh
[Verse 3]
I dream of high clouds
Flushed with the light of daybreak
I'm gonna dive in
To water so cold it makes your bones ache
Fingers knees and knuckles scraped
All of the rubbish heaped
A piece of cardboard taped
Up where the bedroom window pane used to be
From here you can almost
From here you can almost see the sea
[Refrain]
Bmadd11                          Aadd9     E
Just another fool in the line    ahhhhhh
Bmadd11                          Aadd9     E
Just another fool in the line    ahhhhhh
[Final Verse]
I saw a film once
Where all the airholes froze up
A killer whale swam
Under the blue ice
Until her heart stopped
