Toni Braxton (née le 7 octobre 1967) est une chanteuse-compositrice, pianiste, productrice de disques, actrice et philanthrope américaine, active depuis 1989. Elle est surtout connue pour son single "Unbreak My Heart" et son deuxième album Secrets. Braxton a été découverte très tôt par William E. Pettaway Jr, qui l'a aidée à lancer sa carrière. Braxton a commencé à se produire avec ses quatre sœurs dans un groupe familial intitulé "The Braxtons" à la fin des années 1980, réussissant à attirer l'attention d'Antonio "L.A." Reid et de Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, qui ont été les co-artistes des chansons de Braxton, dont sa chanson phare, Un-Break My Heart. L.A. Reid et Babyface ont fait appel à Braxton comme remplaçante et lui ont fait enregistrer une démo de "Love Shoulda Brought You Home". La chanson a été intégrée à la bande originale du film Boomerang, ce qui lui a valu un succès et une reconnaissance précoces. Braxton a commencé à enregistrer son premier album solo chez LaFace Records le 13 juillet 1993, gagnant rapidement en popularité puisqu'il a atteint la première place du Billboard 200 Albums Chart aux États-Unis. Le premier album de Braxton lui a valu plusieurs récompenses, dont trois Grammy Awards. Son premier album lui a également valu deux American Music Awards. Son deuxième album studio, "Secrets", qui est aussi son album le plus réussi, est sorti en juin 1996. Secrets comprend son single à succès de 1997 "How Could an Angel Break My Heart" et "You're Makin' Me High". L'album a atteint la deuxième place du Billboard 200. Au niveau international, "Secrets" s'est vendu à plus de 15 millions d'exemplaires, faisant de Braxton une superstar. Braxton a ensuite sorti 7 autres albums, voyant le succès des singles ultérieurs comme "He Wasn't Man Enough" et "Unbreak My Heart" être parmi les plus populaires. Braxton a également réussi à occuper le siège de producteur exécutif dans certaines émissions de télévision, comme Braxton Family values et Tamar & Vince.
