Les Easybeats étaient un groupe de rock australien composé de Stevie Wright, George Young, Harry Vanda, Dick Diamonde et Gordon "Snowy" Fleet. Wright était originaire d'Angleterre, Diamonde et Vanda des Pays-Bas, et George et Young étaient des arrivants plus récents d'Ecosse et d'Angleterre. Ils se sont tous rencontrés au Villawood Migrant Hostel où leurs familles ont séjourné pendant leurs premières années en Australie. Le groupe joue dans le sous-sol d'un pub de Darlinghurst, à Sydney, en 1964 et s'inspire de la "British Invasion". Il devient rapidement l'un des groupes les plus populaires de Sydney et signe avec Albert Productions grâce aux efforts de leur manager, Mike Vaughan. Leur premier single, "For My Woman", est sorti sur une radio locale de Sydney en 1965 et a débuté à la 33e place du hit-parade. Leur deuxième single, "She's So Fine", a atteint la 3e place et leur a donné un succès commercial qui a attiré l'attention de tout le pays.
