Andrew Bird est un violoniste, guitariste, chanteur, auteur-compositeur et siffleur de la région de Chicago. Formé à la méthode Suzuki d'apprentissage de la musique depuis l'âge de quatre ans, il est influencé par de nombreux styles classiques, jazz, blues et folk. Il a obtenu un baccalauréat en interprétation du violon à Northwestern en 1996.
